Donating an eye is a good deed and one
of the best means of charitable social service, as you enable another person
obtain or regain their vision. The team's heartiest thanks go to all those
noble people who donate their eyes and enable a blind person's eye to bloom to
this colorful world.
Even after death, the donor lives in the
eyes of the recipient, like in the eyes of Naina's brother in the short film
"Welcome to Light". Naina's brother marvels at the beauty of nature
after twenty-five long years of darkness, and feels like he is the luckiest
person in the world now that he can enjoy the beauty around him. The greenery of
the forest, the sky with its dark clouds, the tall spotted giraffes, the strong
black and yellow striped tiger, the jewel-toned birds and the splendid hues of
different flowers fill his heart with happiness. His joy even makes him
oblivious to those who make fun of his childlike innocence at experiencing the
light in world for the first time in his life.
Our eyesight is a gift that most of us
take for granted, but its absence can be hard on some. Let us take a moment,
through this film, to renew our early moments in life, when we too experienced
the world's light for the first time.
Honorable Jury members awarded this
short film with Gold Trophy in the 24 FPS Digital Film Making Category. I feel
to be a proud student of MAAC Kankurgachi. Its unpardonable effort helps every
student to draw-out the real creativity in them.
